A summer shirt for big people. Actor, writer, statesman, diplomat, company executive, wealthy farmer. Always at the head of the table delivering that keynote address.
A precision tailored, handmade, hand cut shirt carefully aligned to obtain the perfect alignment of front and back pleats also known as pintuck. Countless front and back pleats one after another, like waves from the sea. Large utility pockets. At the bottom the design has a high band running around, studded with buttons. The band at the bottom. Coat collar. Worn outside with no tuck in. The shirts are handcrafted after an elaborate and painstaking process of marking where the pleats are made exactly parallel. Class, comfort, craftsmanship.
2 ply long staple cotton in 100's count, made of compact spun yarn, double singed, double mercerized, softened to give a luxury finish. Herringbone weave with raised construction makes fabric summer friendly and breathable. Washed for whiteness. 100% cotton, no additives.
The broad design features were set by the British rulers but the colour of choice was khaki in a twill weave. This is now upmarket white herringbone. Also worn by distinguished people in Latin America, known as Guayabera shirt or the Hemingway shirt.
